At their Aberdeen engagement photo shoot, two women in striped tops cuddle their beautiful dogs in an autumn forest.
It was the first of November and the autumn leaves had hung around JUST long enough for Diane and Hannah's engagement photo shoot in the woods of Aberdeen. Orange beech leaves, yellow silver birch and the deep greens of ivy made for a beautiful backdrop for their photos.
Diane and Hannah's gorgeous dogs joined us for the first part of the photo shoot which was... eh... as chaotic as photo shoots with excited pups always are! But absolutely worth racing them through the mud and fishing them out of piles of leaves to get some pictures of the whole family.
Mind you, I can't say we got MUCH more sensible once the dogs went to join Diane's parents in their car...

...but photo shoots should be all about showing your personalities. And I hope one of your favourite things about the person you love is how much they make you laugh.
Pre-wedding / engagement photo shoots are optional extras for all of my wedding couples. I mean, on the one hand, they ARE a luxury add on but, on the other, you end up with photos like THIS. Photos you can pop in with your invitations or upload to a Facebook announcement, yes, but also photos you will want to hang on your wall because they make you feel celebrated and seen.
And, on a personal note, I love getting to know couples better before their big day. I love hearing your stories of how you met and who you are and what plans you're making, face to face. I love arriving at your wedding, feeling like we're already friends.
