A head and shoulders shot of a couple leaning in, about to kiss. One is a white woman with long dark straight hair and a bright yellow jacket; her partner is a dark haired white man with a bushy beard and a dark jacket. The background is an ornate black door, with details just visible in the light.
Ten years ago, this gorgeous couple got married at King's Chapel in Old Aberdeen, Scotland.
Ten years later, they celebrated their anniversary by taking their children to visit Old Aberdeen and having some family photos taken while they were there.
(One of my wedding top tips is to get married somewhere you can easily visit on your anniversary - it's such a romantic annual tradition and one of several reasons why my spouse and I got married in a park)
We started off at King's College, playing peek-a-boo around the pillars and trees. The kids enjoyed having the space to run around and I think the parents enjoyed the excuse to be a little bit silly!
A preschool age boy in jeans and a long sleeved T-shirt walks along a sandy path between shrubs. He is looking back over his shoulder to see where his brother is hiding.
And then we wandered along to Cruickshank Botanic Gardens where the parents had had their original wedding photos taken.
Old Aberdeen in general is beautiful to visit, any time of year, but the Botanic Gardens are a real highlight for me. They're beautiful and (usually!) serene, with frogs in the ponds and flowers down every twisty, turny path.
Black and white photo of a preschool boy running into his mother's arms amongst flowering bushes. The background is blurred from movement but the little boy is in sharp focus.
