Aberdeen family photography for queer (and hetero) love. Two mums stand, hand in hand, looking at each other while their children play on the beach in the background.
Let me be upfront: Nadine (she/her) is one of my besties. So, when she asked me to take family photos of her with her girlfriend, Beth (they/them), and two kids, I was DELIGHTED. I knew this family photo shoot was going to be a whole lot of fun!
Where do I even start telling you about this photo session? We jumped the waves, we ran on the beach, we danced and drew in the sand. There were hugs, there were kisses, there was EVERYTHING.
Perhaps, let's start with the sparkles. Aberdeen beach on a sunny day holds a whole lot of mermaid magic.
Or, no, no - maybe let's talk about the twirling.
Or did I mean this twirling?
The stone skimming? The wave jumping? The racing across the sand?
At their Aberdeen family photo shoot, two mums - she wearing a leopard-print dress; they wearing a grey shirt - cuddle their two kids, a girl and a boy, both wearing green and white striped T-shirts. Everyone is wearing sunglasses.
I firmly believe all family photography should be this much fun.
It should be so much fun that everyone forgets they were bribed with the promise of ice cream. It should be so much fun that the skeptical tween can't help but smile. It should be so much fun that the kids forget all about the camera and you all just get on with playing.
Except when they get ahold of the photographer's fancy filters, that is...
A little girl with white skin and long hair looks through a photographer's kaleidoscope filter, squishing it up against her nose, at an Aberdeen family photo session.
The photographer's fancy filters create magic like this:
Got to love a sneaky rainbow making its way into an LGBTQIA+ family photo shoot, right?
Hands clasped against a backdrop of blue skies and sparkling sea. One hand has a cat tattoo on the wrist and she wears a Trans Pride bracelet. The other hand belongs to her non-binary partner, grey shirt sleeve showing.
If you're looking for an Aberdeen family photographer who brings the fun, the energy and the silly games, I would love to have a chat. You can find out more about my family photography packages here or just skip straight to the conversation by contacting me over here.
At the end of their Aberdeen family photography session, a mother's tattooed arms are shown reaching for her child's Bluey and Bingo trainers. There are sandy socks lying nearby.
