What a fantastic birthday party this was - I knew, as soon as I arrived, that this one was going to be full of love and inside jokes and people I would wish that I knew better!
Craig had arranged this party for his fiftieth birthday, inviting friends and family not just from across the UK but all the way from Canada. Only a couple of his guests knew where the party was taking place - he had arranged luxury taxis to pick up his loved ones and bring them to a surprise location: The Chester Hotel!

The party started with drinks outside the hotel on a glorious hot and sunny evening. The group then headed inside where Craig gave a speech to welcome his guests.
Although the party was officially for his birthday, in reality, it was more of a celebration of his loved ones with mentions of birthdays, anniversaries, recent driving tests and even a formal welcoming of his son's girlfriend into the family. One of Craig's nephews was in charge of the sound system and another helped to hand out gifts and flowers.

Dinner was followed by drinks, chat, a quiz and a magician (the amazing Phoenix Magic - I stayed slightly longer than intended just so I could watch more of his tricks!).
